About Our Medical Director

Dr. Charles J. Sawyer has served as our center’s Medical Director since we first opened our doors in 1970. Dr. Sawyer has spent 40 years working in long-term care. He attended medical school at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and completed his residency in Charleston, South Carolina.

Dr. Sawyer is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, University of North Carolina Medical Alumni and Seabord Medical Society.

When he has free time, Dr. Sawyer enjoys tennis, gardening, yard-work and spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren).
